… with a shout out to the above graduating class of 2021, who kept on even when the lights went out!
It's been a hitch over two months since I went on hiatus, and in that time, Life has become even more complicated, and that has led to a lengthier break from writing than anyone hoped.
Things got so intense that I reached out to a coach who, after discussing the various and sundry external pressures, assured me it's best to continue the break until the life events ease up. (That's a nice way of saying she told me to rest. Like, right now!)
It's distressing to me to have to accept this, because I know everyone reading this post has also had their share of trauma over the past year—never mind in the course of normal life—and we all have to keep on keeping on.
That said, it's also important to recognize there are times when the act of just living takes so much energy, there simply isn't enough left for the act of creation.
This is one of those times.
I'd get into more detail, but the stories that are impacting the creative aspect of my life are not mine to tell.
As to the future of The Libra Gambit, I have been making notes, and will continue to do so, adding whatever comes to mind in the moment with LG, but at this juncture it really is all I can do to keep up with the Life responsibilities, and all the Plot Twists they entail.
In the meantime, I have set the flash fiction anthology, Ghosts in the Graveyard free on all vendors. Like Life at the present, these stories are a little up, and a little down, but no matter what, just keep on keeping on.
And in parting, please enjoy this scene from our Hamilflock Lawnscape (costuming provided by a generous neighbor with a sewing machine and a shared love of Hamilton).
